How to get the Lapras EX card in Pokémon TCG Pocket's new event

Lapras EX is a powerful card that players can look forward to picking up.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket mobile game’s popularity has enthralled players worldwide, earning $12 million earned in just four days. This mobile game adaptation of the beloved Pokémon Trading Card Game offers a streamlined experience for both veteran collectors and new fans alike, enabling players to collect iconic Pokémon cards and compete in battles against AI or other players.

Now, in celebration of its successful launch, the game has introduced its first in-game event, giving participants the chance to win the highly sought-after Lapras EX card. The time-limited event runs from 5 November at 3:00 PM Singapore Time to 18 November at 2:59 PM Singapore Time.

Players who participate will have the opportunity to take on a Lapras-themed deck across four difficulty levels, with prizes ranging from Shop Tokens and Shinedust to the exclusive A Series Vol. 1 Promo Packs. These packs contain single cards, and although the exact odds of obtaining Lapras EX are unclear, many players have reported receiving the card early in their attempts. The event has garnered considerable excitement, with players hoping to strengthen their decks through these limited-edition rewards.

How the limited-time event works

To participate, players need to spend Event Stamina, which is capped at five tokens. Once all tokens have been used, players must wait twelve hours for one token to regenerate.

By selecting the appropriate Pokémon cards for each difficulty level, players can improve their chances of victory and maximise rewards. For example, many have found that cards such as Zebstrika, Meowth, and Zapdos are effective choices, particularly at the Expert level, where challenges are most intense.

Promo Pack A Series Vol. 1: possible rewards

Upon winning a battle, players may receive a Promo Pack from the A Series Vol. 1, which includes a single card from a set list. These packs contain the following Pokémon cards, with Lapras EX being the most prized:

  • Lapras EX
  • Butterfree
  • Pikachu
  • Mankey
  • Clefairy

Lapras EX, in particular, is a powerful addition to any deck with 140 HP and an 80-damage attack that requires only two Water and one Colourless energy, making it a valuable asset for both offensive and defensive strategies.

How to access and open promo packs

Players can open their Promo Packs through the main menu’s gift list, where they’ll find any accumulated promotional packs ready for access. Each pack contains one random card from the list above, which makes this event an exciting opportunity for collectors and competitors alike.

Given the rarity and strength of Lapras EX, is continuing to draw in players, promising a mix of nostalgia, strategy, and competitive spirit. The addition of limited-time events and rare card rewards suggests that the game will maintain its momentum, offering fans fresh content and challenges in the coming months.
