There’s so much to look forward to for Genshin Impact’s version 5.1 update.
Genshin Impact’s 5.1 version update “A Rainbow Destined to Burn” is set to release on October 9, and will feature a new playable character in Xilonen, reruns of Chiori, Nahida, and Hu Tao, a birthday event for Nahida, and more!

Xilonen debut, Chiori, Nahida, Hu Tao rerun
Version 5.1’s gacha banners will feature the debut of 5-star Geo character Xilonen, accompanied by a rerun of the Inazuman seamstress Chiori in the first half, while the second half will have the reruns of Dendro Archon Nahida and Funeral Director Hu Tao.

Xilonen is renowned throughout Natlan thanks to her skill with the forge. A member of the Children of Echoes tribe, there’s nothing she can’t forge! From weapons, to jewellery, to vehicles, and even to Ancient Names, just fill in a lengthy form and you’re good to go.
But beyond the heat of the furnace, Xilonen is also a formidable fighter who can provide unwavering support to your team. She will be a 5-star Geo sword user and support unit who will focus on buffing your team depending on the presence of Pyro, Hydro, and Electro characters in your party.
Chiori, Nahida, Hu Tao
Alongside Xilonen, Chiori will make her 2nd banner appearance. Chiori is a celebrated Inazuman seamstress and Fashion Designer who also doubles as a formidable Geo sword user and Sub/DPS unit.
While the second half will feature the Dendro Archon and catalyst user Nahida, who specialises in a support role for Dendro teams, and the Pyro polearm DPS Hu Tao, who still ranks as one of the top DPSs for her element.
Natlan Archon Quest continues with 2 more acts
With the Natlan Archon Quest entering its climax in version 5.1, it looks like there’s going to be more mystery and intrigue regarding the Pyro Archon Mavuika. Just what is she hiding, and what does the Fatui Harbinger Il Capitano’s presence exactly entail?
With Mavuika’s 500-year plan now fully setting into motion, the impending apocalypse threatening Natlan seems to need the Pyro Gnosis and a heavy price to finally be foiled, and with Xilonen, Citlali, and Ororon now entering the fray, it’s looking like a great battle is about to begin between the people of Natlan and the Abyss.
Completing the additional acts for Natlan’s Archon Quest will yield travellers 500 Primogems as a reward.

To celebrate the game’s 4th anniversary, Genshin Impact has released a special anniversary theme song titled “Passing Memories”, as well as a beautiful animated video!

Celebrate Nahida’s birthday, among other events

Version 5.1’s main event will have us return to Sumeru to celebrate the Sabzeruz Festival and Nahida’s birthday!
Travellers will reunite with Dehya, Tighnari, and Collei to prepare a special and heartwarming birthday surprise for Nahida, and will take on the special role of Knight of Flowers once again, this time escorting her carriage through the festival parade. Let’s hope there are no longer any samsaras involved!
The event will feature tons of mini-games in Port Ormos, like:
- Rocking Carriage - where participants will control a carriage to collect flowers and dodge obstacles,
- Interreflection of Reality and Dreams - where players are challenged to spot anomalies in the dream world,
- Shadow of the Knight’s Blade - where players must battle enemies as the Knight of Flowers.
Participating in the event and earning Festive Fervor will allow players to claim various rewards, including a chance to recruit the 4-star Hydro polearm unit Candace for free.
Other events for this version are:
- Aphid Treasure Trace - find, pursue, and destroy Phlogiston Aphids infected with the abyss,
- Feast of Pursuit - a fighting event where players can earn rewards by undergoing certain battle challenges,
- Reminiscent Regimen: Thrill - tackle random challenges with fellow travellers in coop.
QoL updates, new cosmetics

Starting version 5.1, travellers can undergo a series of challenges to obtain cosmetic trails for Zhongli and Keqing, called Envisaged Echoes. The Envisaged Echoes will appear as a trail thematic to a character.
Other QoL updates are:
- Skip Feature for the Spiral Abyss,
- Limited-time exploration rewards will now be implemented,
- Crafting Bench management,
- Streamlined Adventurer’s Handbook,
- Custom Artifact filtering for characters,

Genshin Impact is currently in version 5.0 2nd half, featuring the debut banner run of Dendro 5-star Kinich, and rerun of the Electro Archon Raiden Shogun. Version 5.1 will be made available on the 9th of October.
