After seven months of waiting, Stardew Valley’s developer has announced the release date of version 1.6 for mobile and console platforms.

The wait for the 1.6 update has been gruelling for Stardew Valley players on mobile and console, but the wait is almost over. ConcernedApe has revealed on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that the new content will finally be made available on November 4.

Stardew Valley’s version 1.6 update features tons of new content for its farmers, some of which are:

  • Desert Festival: A three-day spring event accessible after bus repair.
  • Mini Fishing Festivals: Trout Derby and SquidFest.
  • New Mastery System: Unlocks powerful perks and items through a new area.
  • New Farm Type: Meadowlands Farm, starting with a coop and 2 chickens.
  • New NPC Dialogues: Custom reactions, dynamic dialogues, restored missing lines, and seasonal changes.
  • Multiple Pets: After reaching max hearts with your pet.
  • Ginger Island World Map: Now tracks player positions in real-time.
  • Winter Outfits for NPCs and festival changes every second year.
  • New Items: Many new items, including Big Chest, Fish Smoker, Deluxe Bait, Skill Books, and 19 unique Books of Power.
  • New Achievements, Secrets, Easter Eggs, and Fish Tank Additions.
  • New Farm Features: Copper pans upgradeable to steel, gold, iridium, and new pet-related upgrades at Robin's shop.
  • More Furniture, Hats, Pets, and Character Creation Options.
  • Additional Mine and Skull Cavern Challenges.

This update also introduces various visual and environmental enhancements to Stardew Valley, including the addition of waterfalls, more holiday decorations in winter and seasonal world map variants. Jack-o-lanterns will appear after the Stardew Valley Fair, and new critter and bird variants have also been introduced, along with improvements to butterfly diversity.

Graphical tweaks include smoother riverbanks, improved building interiors and seasonal lighting changes, such as darker nights in winter and moodier lighting on rainy days. Various aesthetic refinements like seasonal textures, tree animations and upgraded lighting effects were also added to provide a more immersive experience for players.

Besides aesthetic changes, the 1.6 update will also introduce various quality-of-life upgrades to make your gameplay experience more enjoyable. NPCs will now move chests blocking their path instead of destroying them, and resident bus driver Pam will now leave a sign if she’s not driving the bus, allowing you to drive yourself. Audio improvements will feature smoother sound transitions and positional audio. UI enhancements include better quest tracking, improved shop interfaces, and more informative tooltips. Stardew Valley is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux for PC, iOS and Android for mobile, and on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch for console.
