An all-new 4v4 Dragon Ball Z MOBA is on the way.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the Dragon Ball franchise’s very first MOBA, titled Dragon Ball Project: Multi. One Piece World Seeker maker Ganbarion is leading development on the game, which is a free-to-play top-down 4v4 MOBA featuring heroes and villains from the Dragon Ball Z series. The game will hold its first regional beta from August 20 to September 3.

The game will be a top-down multiplayer game with a Pokemon Unite-like take on the MOBA genre, allowing characters to power up while chasing after Dragon Balls on the map. The reveal trailer above shows off multiple familiar Dragon Ball characters, like Piccolo, Future Trunks, Krillin, Android 18, Vegeta, Majin Buu, and of course, Goku.
The roster doesn’t seem to be limited to Dragon Ball Z characters either, going by the appearance of Vermoud and Zamasu from Dragon Ball Super. The playable roster will be split into tank, support and damage classes, with the ability to customise characters using cosmetic skins and emotes.
The game’s first regional beta test will kick off on August 20 and last until September 3 this year, in Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom and the United States. Currently, only Steam users can participate in the beta - but App Store and Google Play users will also have access to the beta soon.
This isn’t the only game Dragon Ball fans have to look forward to this year, however. The Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games are returning with a new entry called Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero releasing on October 11. In the same month, a new anime series called Dragon Ball: Daima will also make its debut.
