EpicDB, the unofficial SteamDB equivalent for the Epic Games Store, made a massive blunder in the midst of their launch yesterday.

EpicDB, an unofficial title tracking site for Epic Games, leaked over a hundred codenames and titles for unreleased games by various major game publishers, to the excitement of fans and horror of developers.

EpicDB was a recently launched database project that sought to scrape and track the entire list of games being put on the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately or fortunately – depending on if you’re a game developer or a fan eagerly awaiting the release of a particular game – EpicDB leaked the existence of various games that are still in development.

The studios and publishers that were affected by the EpicDB leak include Rockstar Games, Bethesda, SEGA, Square Enix, and BANDAI NAMCO, among others.

The EpicDB leaks are also very reminiscent of the NVIDIA GeForce Now leaks back in November 2021. Likely in response to that previous incident, most of the games scraped by EpicDB were hidden behind cryptic code names.

Internet sleuths over on Reddit proved to be persistent though, as they have compiled a speculative master list of all codenames and what potential games they might refer to.

Some notable speculated unreleased titles in the EpicDB leak include Doom: The Dark Ages, the Final Fantasy 9 remake (which was also part of the list of NVIDIA’s massive leaks), a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, Warhammer: Vermintide 3, and BioShock 4.

With that said, it is worth noting that most of the titles in the EpicDB remain unknown while others were games that have already been released.

Following this massive leak, Epic Games said in a statement to wccftech that they have released a major update that prevented third-party tools from uncovering any new or unreleased games from the Epic Games Store catalogue.

In other words, the massive EpicDB leak might be the last one we will see in a while. And, as of the time of writing, the EpicDB website is no longer accessible.
