Heroic are the first team from South America to qualify for The International 2024 (TI13) and the first team from all regions not to drop a single game.
While for some of the Heoric players, this will be the fifth appearance at the most important tournament in the Dota 2 scene, the organisation will make its TI debut this September in Denmark. Heroic entered the Dota 2 field only at the beginning of this year when they signed a group of people trying to make a splash in the SA region.
“The team was formed with the idea that the players on the roster would work very well together. And that's better than forming a super-star roster hoping that they will bring results instantly,” said Cedric "Davai Lama" Deckmyn to us earlier this year when Heroic was qualifying for their first tournament. “The super-star term comes with a lot of ego in Dota 2. We don't have that, we don't have big egos clashing, we are just very motivated to work hard together and become the best as a team,” he added.

A few months later, Heroic swept the upper bracket in the South America region qualifiers for the pinnacle Dota 2 event. They went 6-0 to achieve their dream and this is the second time when they trumped all competitors in their region. Just ahead of the TI13 qualifiers, Heroic have also gone 6-0 in the Riyadh Masters 2024, bringing the Heroic name to the Esports World Cup as well.
This year, South America has two slots up for grabs in the TI qualifiers. The battle for the second slot continues with three teams fighting for it in the lower bracket rounds. beastcoast are already waiting in the lower bracket finals. Their opponent will be decided later tonight in the Cuyes Esports vs BOOM Esports series. By the end of the day, South America will have its second team heading to Copenhagen for The International 2024.
