The arrival of some cryptic clues in the Crownfall story event hints at the release of a new gameplay patch tomorrow.
We’ve all been burnt before expecting a new Dota 2 patch, only to find something completely underwhelming. The latest occurrence of that was with the Crownfall update. But it may seem like we finally have a more concrete clue about the release of the next gameplay patch.
This image on r/Dota2 by u/Nothoke shows an obstacle, or more so a hole in the ground in the Crownfall path, and the notes pretty explicitly mention the arrival of a gameplay patch tomorrow (considering Valve headquarters is in Seattle and it is still the 21st of May there, the patch can be expected on the 22nd of May).
The note mentions a glimpse of some changes in tomorrow’s gameplay patch. Can’t get clearer than that, can it? To confirm this, Dota 2 community person Wykrhm Reddy put up a candle, which is what is needed to check the clues in the hole in the ground.
Every player who has reached the place in their quest gets a piece of the puzzle when they take a candle to the dark place underground.
As always, the beautiful r/Dota 2 community has pieced up the puzzle together to get an idea of a few of the changes that we might expect to see tomorrow. This one is from u/ TheLeftoverTrailMix.
It is a very small piece of the overall changelog, but some things that can be made out include-
- Whenever the Sun comes out reveals the whole map for 5 seconds (possibly for Phoenix’s Supernova)
- Disruptor Kinetic replaced with Kinetic
- Can use items in their backpack as if they were in their inventory
- Has 0 ability points at Level 1
Already seems like there’s some interesting stuff cooking!
What isn’t clear, however, is whether this will be Dota 2 patch 7.36 or just a balance patch in the form of Dota 2 patch 7.35e. Also, nothing about Ring Master has been revealed. Will the new hero be released with the patch, or is that something we will have to expect somewhere down the line? We will know tomorrow! Hopefully..
