PGL to host at least eight events each worth $1 Million from 2024 to 2026

PGL Announces a Three-Year DOTA 2 Tournament Marathon with at least eight events boasting $1 Million prize pools between 2024 and 2026.

Just one month before The International 12 kicked off with the group stage, Valve announced that there would be no more Dota Pro Circuit.

ESL Pro Tour Season was primed to practically replace Valve’s Dota Pro Circuit with six events announced for 2024, and the calendar was opened up for any other potential third-party events.

But PGL, who had been at the forefront of the DPC and The International over the last few years was not about to be sidelined.

Proclaiming themselves as “the last independent tournament organizer in the industry, without any governmental investment”, PGL is proving their commitment to Dota 2.

“Riding the wave of its 2024 events, PGL is thrilled to elevate the game even further with a bold three-year commitment to DOTA 2! In 2025 and 2026, prepare for an action-packed schedule as PGL ramps up its tournament lineup, hosting three electrifying DOTA 2 tournaments each year. This expansion is a testament to PGL's unwavering dedication to nurturing the growth and ensuring the sustainability of the DOTA 2 esports scene. Fans and players, brace yourselves for more thrilling battles, strategic masterclasses, and unforgettable moments as PGL continues to shape the future of competitive DOTA 2.”

The prominent tournament organizer will be bringing the first wave of events back to Romania. For the trivia, history, and geography curious, Wallachia is the name of the land where Romania is now. At first, it was a principality named Wallachia (which means the Romanian land) sometime in the 14 century until 1866 when it changed to the Kingdom of Romania.
