After three days of competition and one mid-1v1 tiebreaker, the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 playoff brackets have been finalized with the remaining eight teams.
ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 group stage has concluded after three days of battle. Yesterday the first two teams were knocked out of contention – Wawitas Sagazes and 9Pandas.
Today, after the last two teams were eliminated, the playoff brackets were finalized following everyone's favorite tiebreaker – 1v1 mid-faceoff.
ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Group A
The lone South American team at the event, the newly formed Wawitas Sagazes exited the event yesterday. Today, it was the lone Southeast Asian team, Blacklist International. This is quite a surprise to many fans since this team won the post-TI shuffle on paper. It seems that they could not overpower the Western European region and took two full series of losses, leaving them in bad condition for advancing.
ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Group B
As part of the Post-TI12 roster shuffle, LGD began to show some changes within their ranks. On November 11th, Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang moved over to Invictus Gaming as part of their new powerhouse lineup. Fans weren't that concerned though because the team gained access to one of the best mid-laners in the region with the addition of Emo. But maybe they should have been. LGD struggled to keep afloat in the group stage with two big series of losses and two tied series. They were only able to seize a series victory over 9Pandas who were eliminated yesterday.
Following the group stage there was a 1v1 mid tiebreaker between Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng on Team Secret and Quinn “Quinn” Callahan of Gaimin Gladiators to determine seeding. In a ShadowFiend mid-showdown, it was Quinn who came out ahead after 11 minutes to seize the upper bracket placement.
The action resumes today with the first two upper-bracket semi-finals.
Azure RayvsTeam Falcons 11:00 CET

After this, there will be a one-day break before the action resumes on Friday, December 15th at 05:00 CET.
