BOOM Esports has parted ways with their South American Dota 2 squad after just one month and failing to qualify for ESL One Kuala Lumpur.
After missing The International 2023, BOOM Esports announced they would test the South American waters this year. As big of a surprise as it was to SEA fans, perhaps an even bigger surprise is to hear that they have dropped their Dota 2 squad after just one month.
The new roster failed to grab an ESL One Kuala Lumpur spot and came in 5th place in the qualifiers.
The team secured an invite to the qualifiers by taking up the slot from Evil Geniuses, who departed from not just the region but Dota 2 as a whole after The International 2023.
It has not been confirmed if BOOM Esports will continue to operate in South America for any future events or if they will return to SEA in search of a new roster.
