What to watch this week; ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers edition

What should you be watching in the Dota 2 scene this week? How about the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers and new rosters in action?

Unlike in previous years in the DPC era when the post-TI break lasted a month or longer, new rosters have been formed merely two weeks after The International 2023 and are already going into action. 

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 has already begun with the open qualifiers across seven regions: NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, China, SEA. 

Most of the other teams with changes will join the action starting on Thursday, November 16th for the close qualifiers. 

Some of the teams we are looking forward to seeing in the closed qualifiers:

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers

The qualifier battle for ESL One Kuala Lumpur is set to begin on Sunday, November 12, which means fans don't have to wait long to see these new rosters in action. 

  • 7 regions: NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, China, SEA
  • 8 regional qualifier winners — WEU will receive two slots, and the other seven regions will be given one. 

Open and closed qualifiers

  • Open qualifiers #1: Nov 12-13
  • Open qualifier #2: Nov 14-15
  • Closed qualifier: Nov 16-18

All the Top 4 teams at The International 2023 are spared from qualifier matches, ESL One handed them a direct pass to the $1,000,000 tournament. However, Team Spirit withdrew from the competition already.
