Team Spirit has been eliminated from Bali Major after succumbing to PSG.LGD 2:1 in the lower brackets.
It hasn't been a good day for EEU fans.
First, they wake up to the news that BetBoom has lost the points that secured them a TI invite AND were dropped to the lower brackets as a penalty for their series against Tundra.
Then Team Spirit was eliminated from Bali Major.
PSG.LGD has not been looking in top shape for most of the DPC season. They took disappointing back-to-back 9-12th place finishes at both Berlin and Lima Majors.
While they did seem to perk up during the group stage of Bali Major enough to earn a spot in the upper brackets of the playoffs, they were immediately dropped to the lower brackets at the hands of Team Liquid.
Team Spirit just seems to have been a bit lackluster, a shell of their former selves. They took 7-8th place at the Lima Major and 9-12th at Berlin Major. Their results in other events such as DreamLeague weren't so hot either.
But at least they had done well enough in the season to gain a direct invite to The International.
PSG.LGD's drafts and overall play looked to be a bit more impressive and solid than yesterday.
Team Spirit looked lost, giving off a feeling of lacking in something.
While Team Spirit dominated the first match and was looking good, Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov's presence felt nonexistent in the 2nd and 3rd games.
LGD's victory secured them another day at Bali Major and most importantly, enough points for a direct invite to The International.
Team Spirit walks away with another 9-12th place finish at a Major and no money in their pockets for their efforts.
