K1 takes a mental health break for the rest of the Summer Tour regional league

beastcoast will play the last three series of the South America regional league Summer Tour with a stand-in.

According to an official announcement made by the organisation, beastcoast’s carry player Héctor "K1" Rodríguez will be taking a “temporary mental health break to prioritize his well-being.” The organisation stated that it’s ready to provide K1 with the necessary support during “this challenging time.”

beastcoast have already played four series in the SA regional league of the Summer Tour and will be able to use a stand-in for the next three matches to end the season without K1. In his place, the Peruvian team will use David "Parker" Nicho Chote as a stand-in.

“We will evaluate our performance on a game-by-game basis, and as always, our focus remains on maintaining our competitive edge and achieving success,” stated beastcoast.

Parker has previously stood in for K1 through the whole playoff bracket at BTS Pro Series Season 14: Americas and reached the top 4 with beastcoast. This time around the stakes are higher, beastcoast needing a top two finish in the SA regional league in order to secure a ticket to the last Major of the year.

At mid-point in the Summer Tour SA regional league, beastcoast are in second place with an overall 3-1 series score. Their most important battle for securing a ticket to Bali Major is against Evil Geniuses, who are now at the top of the league rankings with a clean 4-0 performance.

The duel between the two SA forces will close the Summer Tour league schedule on June 4.
