The International returns to the US after four editions held around the world.
TI12 location and date for this year’s edition have been revealed during the break between the Lower and Upper Bracket finals at ESL One Berlin Major. The International returns home to US after for four editions held across the globe.
TI7 was the last edition hosted by the Key Arena in Seattle, where Team Liquid lifted the Aegis of Champions. From there on, each year TI went to different parts of the globe. TI8 was held in Vancouver, Canada where OG made a historical underdog run. The next year OG defended their title in the Mercedes Arena from Shanghai, China. In 2020 the whole world took a break from offline events and so did Dota 2 and TI. The anniversary tenth edition was held without a crowd in Bucharest, Romania and it had Team Spirit lifting the trophy. TI11 marked the return to a live audience with Tundra Esports claiming the most wanted trophy in the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Key Arena, which now is Climate Pledge arena from Seattle will be the home for The International 2023. The event will run October 14 - 29 with the best 18 teams fighting for the trophy.
With the DPC 2023 season reaching the end of the second Tour, only two teams have been locked themselves in for TI 2023. Team Liquid were first to secure enough points to qualify for TI, while Gaimin Gladiators followed them shortly by reaching the grand finals of the Berlin Major.
