Shopify Rebellion has picked up the former Evil Geniuses' roster and Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek as they enter the NA Dota 2 scene.
A new player (organization) has entered the game. Shopify Rebellion has picked up the former EG roster and will be competing in NA for the upcoming DPC 2022-23 season.
Teased with an RTZ gif, the NA player went on stream live to break the news and talk about his team's new organization.
Three weeks ago Evil Geniuses released the current roster and headed south of the border. The remaining members (sans Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko, but including coach Kanishka 'Sam' "BuLba" Sosale) decided to stick it out together and play in NA. They recruited Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek and went seeking a new banner to play under.
Shopify, a Canadian multinational eCommerce company, officially launched its own esports organization and Starcraft 2 team, Shopify Rebellion in 2021. The company hired former Team Liquid StarCraft player Dario “TLO” Wünsch as their esports program manager and since then they have picked up teams in Rocket League, Halo, and their most recent being Valorant in June 2022 when they signed the Luminosity Gaming roster.
Rebellion will be playing in Division I (presumably EG's old slot) starting next month.
