Nisha ends his stint with Team Secret after four years, a plethora of achievements and some incredible TI runs.
Michał "Nisha" Jankowski made himself noticed playing on the Polish stack of ALTERNATE aTTaX, later own signed by Team Kinguin. Even in the early days of his professional career, Nisha was switching between roles and he was still taking the limelight regardless of if he was in the offlane or in the mid lane position. In the post-TI8 shuffle, he was recruited by Team Secret and had an immediate impact on the team dynamics.
Two months after Nisha joined in the carry position, Team Secret reached the grand finals of Kuala Lumpur Major and from there on, they kept on dominating the DPCs, claiming Major titles and reaching The International stage as one of the main favorites at the title for three years in a row.
With Nisha switching between mid and carry positions through the multiple roster iterrations that Secret had to make over the years, Team Secret kept on improving their TI results. They placed fourth at TI9, the first TI with Nisha. In 2021 they reached the finals day and finished third, while this year in Singapore, they made an incredible run from Last Chance Qualifiers to the grand finals of TI11, which they eventually lost to Tundra Esports.
Perhaps this past year was the most challenging one for Team Secret and captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov, who had to run through multiple scenarios to find the optimal team composition to get to The International. Unfortunately, Secret’s roster changes from 2022 were forced not only by a lack of synergy or cohesion between the team members, but also by health issues. Even so, with Nisha going from carry back to mid, Team Secret managed to achieve their best TI placement.
Nisha departs from Secret with a total of 13 championship titles under his belt, three of them being DPC Majors, a 4th, a 3rd, and a 2nd place finish at The International, on top of the Esports PC Player of the Year awarded in 2020.
Upon his departure, Nisha’s now former captain, Puppey had the following to say:
What can I say about my boy Nisha... We've played many years together, shared many laughs, travelled the world, and won a bunch of tournaments.
I cherish our time together and completely understand his decision to move on and see more of the world.
I wish him all the best and hope that his fire will keep burning for many more year - Puppey
“We wish Nisha the best of luck in all of his future endeavors and continued success in his career,” Team Secret said in their official announcement. “He leaves behind some big shoes to fill, but stay tuned as we get ready to take our next strides and leave an imprint on the upcoming Dota 2 2022-23 season."
This year’s post-TI shuffle window will close on the 9th of December at 11:59 am PT, so both Team Secret and Nisha have under 10 days to announce their next move.
