DPC 2021-22 Spring Tour Week 5; An abbreviated version

We're headed into the fifth week of the DPC 2021-22 Spring Tour with only four regions locked in to compete and time running short.

There should only be two more weeks left of the DPC 2021-22 Spring Tour, which means that things are heating up and Major bound teams are starting to lock in their tickets —or are they?

Due to the war in Ukraine, Valve has postponed the DPC for Eastern Europe indefinitely.

The DPC for China has been put on hold, originally until April 8th -now tentatively until April 12th, as Shanghai has entered a lockdown.

That means only four regions are competing at the moment —Western Europe, Southeast Asia, South America and North America.

In Western Europe Brame delivered the biggest Spring Tour upset with a 2:1 victory over Team Secret last week. This resulted in Brame pushing Team Secret down to second-to-last place in the rankings, just ahead of Team Nigma. What is going on in Europe?!?

Brame will next take on OG on April 12th at 15:00 CEST. Last week, OG stopped Gladiators' win streak and are threatening their first place position in the Western Europe DPC league. Team Secret will go head to head with Team Nigma on April 16th at 15:00 CEST.

In SEA, Fnatic is the only one to stay undefeated with a 4:0 series (8:3 game) record.  T1 and Boom Esports are close on their heels, and luck is in the favor of the region's fans this week. T1 will be taking on Boom on April 14th at 12:00 CEST for what is expected to be a very hyped match with impactful ranking results. Then Boom will need to face Fnatic on April 16th at 12:00 CEST.

In North America, Evil Geniuses took down Quincy Crew in a very convincing 2:0 sweep last week. They are now tied for first place with TSM FTX, each with a 5:0 series (10:1 game) record. These two teams will lock horns on April 16th at 21:00 CEST in a very decisive series.

QC's loss pushed them into 3rd place in a region with only two spots allocated for the Major. Things aren't written in stone yet and they will still have a chance to rise up.

beastcoast and Thunder Awaken are tied for the first place position in South America. Both teams should have a relatively easy path to booking their tickets for Sweden, but which one comes out on top will be determined most likely by their upcoming match next week.

Spring Tour 2022

  • Regional Leagues total DPC points: 920
  • Major total DPC points: 2,700

Division I

Those teams in Division I will be fighting for a spot at the "first" Major of the competitive year, and a share of the 690 DPC points and $205,000. Only the top five teams from Division I will earn DPC points. The sixth-placed team will get to keep its spot in the league, while those finishing in the 7th/8th place will be relegated into Division II for the next Tour.

Division II

Division II has a total prize pool of $75,000 and no DPC points to offer, but those placing top two at the end of the Spring Tour will promote into Division I for the next Tour. The prize pool will be split between the top 6 teams, while the bottom two will be eliminated from the regional league and will have to go through open qualifiers for the next Tour.

Major

ESL One Stockholm Major is expected to unfold May 12-22 where teams will fight for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and 3530 DPC points.
