Team Team upset both J.Storm and Forward Gaming to claim the last NA spot for MDL Disneyland Major.
NA was one of the lucky regions to be granted three qualifier spots for MDL Disneyland Major. Evil Geniuses and compLexity had claimed the first two spots leaving J.Storm, Team Team, Forward Gaming and Team Xolotl to battle it out for the remaining spot one day later.
J.Storm was considered the frontrunner by most - with a highly commendable season and sitting in 9th place of the DPC rankings.
Forward Gaming had just revamped their roster just over a week ago, Saahil ‘UNiVeRse’ Arora and Avery 'SVG' Silverman being released from the organization and Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok moving to inactive status. Eyes were all on them to see if their three new players Kartik 'Kitrak' Rathi, Quinn 'CC&C' Callahan and Jingjun 'Sneyking' Wu would make their dreams come true.
Although Team Team had competed in Bucharest Minor with a slightly altered roster, not many had considered them a serious contender for the Major slot despite having added Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao to the lineup.
All of that changed when Team Team overpowered J.Storm in the first round of the lower brackets and then went on to do the same to Forward Gaming in the finals.
The North American squad will now be heading to play with the top dogs in Paris.
From May 4th to May 12th, 16 of the best teams will battle it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney® Events Arena which has a seating capacity of 6,300. As the fourth Major of the DPC 2018-2019 season, teams will be competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.
