Just over two months after stepping in to fill the carry position for OG, the TI8 championship team bids farewell to iLTW.
Just one day after, OG announced that Pers "Pajkatt" Olsson was parting ways with the TI8 championship team, the carry position was filled on a temporary basis by Russian player Igor "iLTW" Filatov.
iLTW had previously stood in for OG for some of the matches in The Bucharest Minor when Pajkatt was unavailable due to illness. iLTW most recently played for Espada before joining up with the Dream Green team and has a history of competing with various CIS teams since 2015.
Now, only days after a disappointing 5-6th place finish at the StarLadder ImbaTV Kiev Minor, OG has announced the parting of ways with their substitute player.
We announce today that Igor “iLTW” Filatov will no longer be part of the roster. Igor has been an amazing player to work with, he’s been as professional as one could expect, and his potential is obvious. However, the DPC season puts a team on a timer and we unfortunately had to come to the decision to part ways with him, as we are still not meeting the results we aim at.
Currently, OG is sitting in 27th position of the DPC rankings with only 48 points to their name. In order to receive a direct invite to TI9, teams need to be in the top 12 positions with at least an estimated 4950 DPC points at this moment.
The team will announce their replacement in the next few days amid rumors that Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham who shocked the Dota 2 world by announcing that he was stepping down from the active roster of OG for this season only a few months after winning TI8 would return.
Current OG roster:
Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen
Sebastien 'Ceb' Debs
Jesse 'Jerax' Vainikka
Johan 'n0tail' Sundstein
