VGJ.Storm ring in the new year with a roster change

JingJun ‘_Sneyking’ Wu’s departure from the VGJ.Storm roster opens up the doors for two new players.

In an official statement released earlier today, the VGJ.Storm organization stated that both Brian ‘BSJ’ Canavan and Jaron ‘monkeys-forever’ Clinton would be filling their roster after JingJun ‘_Sneyking’ Wu had decided to part ways with the team. For the final two months of 2017, the team utilized a stand-in, which won’t be needed anymore – as the new players fill in the missing carry and offlaner roles. The organization had only well wishes for Sneyking upon his departure, showing appreciation for the effort he showed to move the team forward.

Team director, Jack ‘KBBQ’ Chen said the following on the changes to the roster:

We're excited to welcome BSJ and monkeys-forever to VGJ. Both players have battled through NA Dota for years to compete at the highest level, and we can't wait to add our resources and structure to their drive in helping everyone reach their potential.

It's sad to be moving on from a player who was in many ways the heart and soul of our team, Sneyking. I'd heard many things about him when initially coming into this organization, but at the end of the day what stood out above all else to me is how maniacally competitive and relentless he was. He had vision and experience that few people can match, and continually refused to settle. Some of these are qualities that can't be taught or instilled. We wish him well and he deserves and will probably find success wherever he goes.

2017 was a great year. We learned a lot about each other and what it takes to compete at this level, and we're on to make 2018 even better.

While the team did not see many achievements in 2017, except a last spot finish at the MDL Macau Minor, they will be looking to make a much better showing in 2018 with the following squad:

United States Brian ‘BSJ’ Canavan
United States Eric ‘Ryoya’ Dong
United States Jaron ‘monkeys-forever’ Clinton
United States Francis ‘FLee’ Lee
United States Stanley ‘Stan King’ Yang
