compLexity Gaming has welcomed back the Swedish brothers, Rasmus 'Chessie' Blomdin and Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin into their fold to finalize the new season roster.
Chessie and Limmp will be replacing Jimmy 'DeMoN' Ho and Feras 'Feero' Hroob, both who had been let go following their strained journey in the open qualifiers of The International 2017 and failure to advance further.
A familiar lineup for the compLexity Gaming organization, the two Swedish brothers have returned to play alongside the Freedman brothers to recreate a roster reminiscent of their 2015-2016 Dota 2 roster and HON StayGreen roster from 2013-14.
When the two brothers had originally joined the Dota 2 squad in November of 2015, they had a great synergy together and were seen performing exceptionally well, taking opponents by surprise every so often. At Shanghai Major the team was able to show remarkable coordination, leadership, adaptability and individual skill ultimately taking 5th overall, then followed up at the DotaPit LAN with a noteworthy third-fourth place. Rolling on forward the team then clinched the qualifier spot for the ESL One Manila event, eventually taking 5th-6th place, and went on to claim 4th place at EPICENTER Moscow and 5th-6th at ESL One Frankfurt.
Then around the Manila Major, the team sputtered and failed to advance higher than 9th-12th place in the main event. They squeaked by in the TI6 regional qualifiers with the Wild Card spot but failed to advance to the group stage and main event.
Shortly after, the Swedish brothers and Simon “Handsken” Haag parted ways on amicable terms with the org.
Chessie has spent a year taking care of his health, Kyle has made the move to position 5 to be the best captain he can be, Limmp is recognized as one of the strongest mids in the world, and along the way we met an incredible teammate in Moo who is now back on his beloved offlane. Zfreek still owns too. We spent a year apart, growing and learning individually, and now it is time to bring that experience back together to strengthen the unit.
They were our first choice then and now they’re better than ever. As we begin the next season in a new format and surrounded by familiar faces, I can’t help but be confident. This is our team. This is our time. ”
- Kyle Bautista, General Manager
The team will be making their debut in the BTS Kings Cup event and participating in the upcoming Minors/Majors for the season.
