With EPICENTER Moscow 2017 fast approaching, the European Qualifier final between Team Secret and Natus Vincere was contested yesterday.
The European Qualifier final for EPICENTER Moscow 2017 was initially meant to be played last week, but due to Natus Vincere having played a number of games during that time, it was postponed to May 19th. Yesterday saw Team Secret and Na’Vi go head-to-head in this clash to see who would claim the EU regional invite to the event.
It took just over an hour in game and two games for Team Secret to secure their invite as they dismantled Na’Vi. While Na’Vi were on the back of some great results, Secret definitely found a way to counter Na’Vi’s Dark Seer pick in game one. Even with that, the CIS team drafted the Dark Seer again in game two and were picked apart by Secret with ease, giving Team Secret a 2-0 win and their spot at EPICENTER Moscow 2017.
With only a few weeks left until the group stage of the event begins, Natus Vincere could still receive the final direct invite available, but they would need to go back to the drawing board after their picks in game two just seemed to not gel at all.
EPICENTER’s group stage begins on June 4th and the event, if last year’s is anything to go by, promises to be spectacular. And with a $500,000 prize pool on the line, alongside The International 2017 invites on the horizon, all teams will be playing their collective hearts out in the event.
