After the conclusion of the regional qualifiers last night, StarLadder and ImbaTV announced OG as their second and last direct invite to the $300,000 LAN event.
The three times Major Champions, OG will travel to Shanghai China at the end of this month to compete in the third season of StarLadder i-league StarSeries. They will be joining six other qualified squads and the TI6 Champions, Wings Gaming who were the first to receive a direct invite to the event.
Both direct invitees, Wings Gaming and OG, didn't appear in the previous edition, season 2 being won by Natus Vincere. The Ukrainians took a 3-1 win over Team Secret in the grand finals, which were held in the Beyond the Summit house a week prior to The International 6.
In fact, from last season’s attendees there are only two returning teams, namely Team Secret and Digital Chaos. Secret qualified for Season 3 from the European competition, while DC will represent the North American continent, also as a qualified team. The other NA powerhouse, team Evil Geniuses, didn’t participate in this season qualifiers nor did they receive a direct invite which means we will not be seeing them play from 23rd to 26th of February at the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center.
