Akke teams up with Limmp and s4 to play in the WESG qualifiers

Team Horde features Akke teaming up with Limmp, s4, Solitude and Pablo to play in the Swedish national qualifiers for the World Electronic Sports Games.

Following the dispersal of the legendary roster that won Alliance the third International and the withdrawal of Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin from compLexity Gaming, the Swedish players have formed several teams to participate in the $1.5 million WESG tournament. The reason for Team Horde and the formation of these Swedish teams is the WESG rule which mandates that a team must only contain players from the same country.

Team Horde features Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall reuniting with former teammate Gustav 's4' Magnusson, Limmp, and two rising Swedish youngsters - Yousif 'Solitude' Kutaiba and Axel 'Pablo' Källman. Although no games has been played, the position of the players can be worked out through their respective match histories. Solitude, s4 and Limmp are likely to be core players, leaving Akke and Pablo as the team's support duo.

Team Horde roster for WESG qualifiers:
Sweden Yousif 'Solitude' Kutaiba
Sweden Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin
Sweden Gustav 's4' Magnusson
Sweden Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall
Sweden Axel 'Pablo' Källman

s4 aside, a majority of the team has not found a new team for the fall season despite the roster lock being nine days away. This raises the possibility of the team staying together not only for the WESG tournament but also the rest of the season. However, the team is likely to lose s4 as he has announced that he is the replacement for Amer 'Miracle' Al-Barkhawi in OG.

During the course of the Swedish qualifiers, Team Horde will face some tough competition. Among the most experienced teams is Jonathan 'Loda' Berg and Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist's T_T, which features many former teammates of the Team Horde players. Jonathan 'Loda' Berg and Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist were former Alliance players, while Simon 'Handsken' Haag and Jonas 'jonassomfan' Lindholm were Limmp and Solitude's teammates. It will be interesting to see both these teams battle through the qualifiers for a top-two finish and a ticket to Kiev for the last stage of the qualifiers from 6-9th October. The top eight teams at Kiev will secure a spot in the main event in December, which will feature a showdown for $1.5 million.
