The fourth season of Dota Pit League comes with a new format that includes regional online qualifiers and a LAN main event scheduled to take place next year in Split, Croatia on 19th-20th March.
Four directly invited teams will be joined by four qualified ones. Qualifiers are played in a round robin group, two game series format with six teams in each group. Top team from each group advance to the main event.
Started on 2nd of December, the South East Asia qualifier group featured the strongest names in the region and although many would have expected Mineski or Fnatic to dominate the group it was in fact the newly reformed MVP.Phoenix who placed first and secured the trip to Croatia.
Towards the end of the of the qualifying process it was between Mineski and MVP.Phoenix to decide which team will take the lead of the group and with zero losses, two draw scores and three wins MVP outrun Mineski with a two points difference.
Until the end of the year America will decide its winner as well. The qualifiers for this region already kicked off on December 21st with compLexity Gaming taking their first three points in the series held versus Elite Wolves.
After the US qualifier group will be over it will be Europe’s turn to play and we will have two different groups, one for the CIS teams and one for the European squads.
The $100,000 starting prize pool of Dota Pit Season 4 can be increased by sales of the in-game ticket (25 percent contribution to the prize pool) and sets available in the Dota Pit League Season 4 tournament chest (10 percent contribution to the prize pool).
