Newbee takes home first place and the 150,000RMB prize money after their triumpth at the National Electronic Sports Open, dropping only one game to CDEC in the finals.
A convincing victory by the TI4 champions, Newbee, as the team went flawless to the final, where they faced off against the up and coming team, CDEC. After a hard fought battle, Newbee managed to 2-1 CDEC and take home the first place prize money of 150,000RMB (~US$24,000). CDEC on the other hand, takes home the second prize of 80,000RMB (~US$13,000).
In this tournament, LGD put on an uncharacteristically poor performance that resulted in their early exit after getting 2-0 by Invictus Gaming in the quarter finals. On the flip side, Tongfu had a strong showing; proving that they can hold their ground against top Chinese teams. Notable performances by them include taking a game off CDEC and their 2-0 victory over IG in the third place deciding match.
