Evil Geniuses vs Secret Team - 0:3
Game One
Secret Team used a strategy based on massive AOE damage, with core Zeus, Naga Siren and Tidehunter. Evil Geniuses used a semi-push strategy with Terrorblade and Nature's Prophet, both empowered by Ogre Magi's Bloodlust and Wraith King's Vampiric Aura. Both teams seemed rather equal during the first quarter of the game, with EG getting a slight edge due to their successful ganks against s4 and Simba. However, the Americans seemed unable to execute their pushing strategy to its full potential, as they only managed to take their first tier-one tower by minute 18. Two very successful teamfights by minute 25 and 29 allowed them to kill Roshan for the first time and get the upper hand in the game.
Despite EG's temporary lead, KuroKy's Naga Siren was a ticking time bomb. With Radiance, Heart of Tarrasque and Boots of Travel in his 33-minute inventory, Naga Siren forced EG to get defensive with the continuous illusion split-pushing, allowing Secret to bounce back in the game. Being unable to push effectively, the Americans were forced into inconvenient teamfights, with BigDaddy's Natural Order being used to its full extend by Secret to burst down heroes. Knowing that their defeat could be close, Evil Geniuses attempted to breach their enemy's base by minute 45, but Secret's defense was successful. A similar assault by minute 47 had the same result, with Secret teamwiping EG outside the Radiant base. It was then that the Americans called the 'GG', deciding not to defend their base against their opponents final raid.
Game Two
For the second game, Secret used a gank/teamfight lineup with the Faceless Void-Elder Titan being their main source of physical damage. EG's drafting focused on countering Secret's plans, with heavy mobility, armor and the durable Sven,Razor and Centaur cores. The start of the match was rather morbid for the Americans, with Secret's continuous rotations against Arteezy resulting in four deaths in five minutes for Razor. Being completely dominated during the first minutes of the game, EG based their hopes on Fear's Blink Dagger, and the initiation it could provide. However, it was then that KuroKy also joined the action, making things even more difficult for the Dire. With their mid player having a single Ogre Club by minute 21, EG knew they had lost their chance to get the head start their advantage requires to work. The 'GG' was called by minute 22, after a very awkward battle that could be considered a "stomp".
Game Three
The surprise Disruptor pick by Team Secret paid off early on as they were able to rotate efficiently and apply pressure on Arteezy's Death Prophet, picking him off. Kuroky on his Terrorblade remained uncontested but Simbaa's Tidehunter was quite poor in both farm and xp. Evil Geniuses however was unable to make use of that window of opportunity, as a few gank attempts from the North-Americans failed and a wasted Exorcism meant the end of a potential push. This gave Simbaaa the time to farm up a Blink Dagger and it wsa Secret's turn to take the map control. Kuroky's splitpush was unstoppable and the ganks by EG were all futile as they got Puppey's Ancient Apparition at most, leaving them without any real objective to follow up on.
Kuroky's farm advantage grew larger and larger and even the Secret supports became quite farmed. The combo of the ultimates was nothing EG could handle, especially since their burst damage would only have been sufficient to take out supports. As soon as Secret started to push as five, there was nothing EG could answer with and the title defender tapped out.
