Following a string of complaints from both the players and the DotA 2 community, news has emerged that DreamLeague's second season will be taken over by the GD Studio, with James '2GD' Harding taking up the role of Project Manager.
In an rather fortunate turn of events for the DreamLeague Season 2's DotA 2 Division, James '2GD' Harding has announced that he will be taking over the role of Project Manager for the DreamLeague Season 2's second and third phases. He has also stated that former professional player and Twitch streamer Wagamama will be replacing him in the casting role.
2GD announced that he would be getting in touch with Valve to organize ticket sales for DreamLeague, which would boost the tournament's $100,000 prize pool.
An issue the GD Studio may encounter, however, is Valve's policy regarding tickets: Valve has an approval period for tickets, which meant that tickets for an event would have to be filed from 1-2 weeks (for non-bundle tickets) to a month (for bundles) prior to the event itself. With the DreamLeague's Studio matches scheduled from the 17th-23rd of October and the playoffs scheduled for November 27-29, it is not yet known how the GD Studio will work around this potential roadblock.
Nontheless, the announcement from 2GD seemed to provide a breath of fresh air to a somewhat troubled tournament - the recent string of news for the second incarnation of the DreamLeague's DotA 2 Division have been far from favorable: teams such as Team Tinker accused the tournament's organizers of mismanagement, and most recently, a scheduling issue between Alliance and 4 Anchors.
