Season 2 of the DreamLeague has just been announced, with the invited teams yet to be revealed. The qualifiers commence on the 6th of October, and are open to any teams fitting the region requirements.
The qualifiers for the second ASUS ROG DreamLeague season have been announced. The season sees the addition of an "Asia" region, expanding the participating teams to China, SEA and the like. The five divisons will each have their own qualifier, and these are open to any regionally eligible teams. This basically means that the majority of the team members have to reside from one of the official regions, excluding teams with more than two players from somewhere like Africa, for example.
The qualifiers commence on the 6th of October, with Eastern Europe kicking off the event. The only details revealed about the format so far are that it will be double elimination, the upper bracket matches will be bo3 and the lower bracket bo1, and the grand finals will be bo5.
The invited teams are yet to be revealed, and assuming the defending champions receive and invite, Alliance will have to defend their title as the winners of the first season. Earlier this year, they went from 5/6th at the end of the online stage to winning the LAN finals, beating Cloud 9 in the finals in Sweden. The addition of the Asian division makes things interesting, especially with NewBee's strong performance at the WCA recently, winning the tournament without dropping a single set. This will be the first time ever that Asian teams are included at a Dreamhack Dota 2 tournament.
