Birdgang has advanced into the play-in stage of The Inaugural, a $3,000 tournament hosted by BTS, after defeating MVP.Hot6 with the score of 2-0 in the finals of the Korean prequalifiers. The eight-team SEA prequalifier will be starting tomorrow, wherein there will be four best-of-one matches.
BirdGang convincingly took the lone slot up for grabs in the Korean qualifiers as they defeated the game but overmatched MVP.Hot6 in straight games. The winner of Nexon Sponsorship League's first season was very impressive despite playing with a stand-in. MVP.Hot6 earlier defeated Rave, previously known as EoT hammer and comprised of three Filipino players plus Jio 'Jeyo' Madayag, to reach the match against BirdGang.
The Korean prequalifiers was earlier announced to be a four team tournament, but only three participated.
The SEA qualifiers will start tomorrow, with the first match scheduled at 18:00 SGT (13:00 CET). The four quarter-final matches, all of which will be played tomorrow, will be best-of-one matches. The semi-finals and the finals will ensue on the day after, with the grand finals being a best-of-three.
