After the drop of Dota 2 from MLG's Anaheim event, the organizers of Collegiate Starleague partner with MLG to stage their very own league finals at the main event.
To the dismay of fans worldwide, the decision to exclude Dota 2 from MLG Anaheim was one that was made to lessen the load on the professional players. Since there will be multiple major LAN tournaments happening during the pre-TI period including ESL One Frankfurt and BeyondTheSummit's The Summit, the management over at MLG decided that it would be way too taxing for the teams. Moreover, The International 2014 will be held earlier this year, leaving the teams with less time to bootcamp than ever before.
Fret not however, as the Collegiate Starleague has just announced that they will be partnering with Major League Gaming to bring the CSL finals to Anaheim. The organization, that has handed out college scholarships to players previously, has been holding their DotA2 league for quite some time now, and teams coming from universities from all over North America battle for over $9,000 of prizes.
According to an announcement made via their website, they will be holding their first live Dota 2 event alongside other gaming titles, League of Legends and Starcraft 2, at their booth on the showfloor. All matches will be available for viewing at the event and streamed live on MLG.tv. No information is available for the assigned casters.
