Contact

Admins can be contacted at the game booth located in the C-hall.

Every team MUST join IRC #dh.dota to be able to contact each other. Use the SAME clantag and nickname as you signed up with.

Registering

To sign up you will need a tournament password. The password can be found at the game booth in the C-hall. This is to ensure that only teams present at Dreamhack participate. This rule applies to all players on the team.

A team needs at least five players. If a team consists of more than five players they are allowed to switch players between each game. All players must be added to the teams roster when registering.

NOTE: You register as a team, not individually. The team leader registers your team and adds the rest of the players to the roster.

Team leaders are responsible for uploading results, checking the brackets for new opponents and ensuring that his team's players are present and mannerly.
Please pay extra attention when registering to make sure that your row and seat is accurate. This is for your own help when we need to contact you.

Server

All games should be played using GG-Client (Guide). As some games will be streamed it is mandatory to join the GG-Client GosuGamers DotA Tournament Room (which is located in the War3 TFT RPG -> Leagues and Tournaments) to make things easier for the persons who will stream the game to contact you.

If for some reason you cannot make GG-Client work, and your game will not be streamed - try to agree with your opponents on a different platform, i.e. Hamachi (Guide) or battle.net with /listchecker (LC).( Guide). If you do not know how to set up GG-Client, Hamachi or LC read the guides above or ask your opponent to help you out. Hamachi or LC give approximately similar ping reduction compared to regular Battle.net games, hence we leave it up to players’ decision which platform suits their case best.

NOTE: Playing on battle.net with LC requires a valid CD-Key. Make sure that all players on your team have that in case you are unable to play on GG-Client or Hamachi.

Reporting

The team that lost has to report the game on the webpage. If you lost in winner brackets, you will face a new opponent in loser brackets.

If the losing team did not report the winning team will have to notify a referee and submit a replay of the game to reveny [@] gosugamers [dot] net. Alternatively, you can take a print screen of the end game screen or the enemy team forfeiting.

Walkover

A walkover will be given if one or more player(s) in a team has not showed up 20 minutes after the match was supposed to start. A match is "supposed" to start the minute the brackets are displaying both players to be facing each other.

With exception from the first round, however, walkovers will not be given out unless a player is waiting in the next round for this particular match to end.

Only referees can give walkovers.

Example: Team A is about to play Team B in round 3. No teams are in round 4 yet. Team B leaves for dinner and is away 25 minutes. When he comes back, round 4 still have no teams and therefore Team A does not have a team waiting in the next round; Team A and Team B play their match.

However, would Team A have had an opponent in round 4 and Team B came back 25 minutes after Team A and Team B were supposed to start (meaning 5 minutes after walkover time), Team A tells a referee who gives him a walkover win in round 3.

Complaints

If you suspect that your opponent has broken the rules you have to submit a complaint to a referee.
You are NOT ALLOWED to submit a complaint if you:
• Have started your next game.
• It was more than an hour since your game ended.

Warnings and Bans

A referee is authorised to:
• Reverse the result of a game
• Revoke the result of a game (the game will be replayed)
• Give a team a warning
• Ban a team
Two warnings will result in a ban. If you are banned you are not allowed to continue playing in the tournament.

The referee has full authority to give the verdict at his/her own discretion.

Examples:
A warning might be given to a team not following the item limitations. If that team won the game, a referee may also reverse the result of the game.
NOTE: If this happens in the winner brackets the team given the loss will continue in the loser brackets.
A ban might be given to a team manipulating the game, e.g. by using maphack.

Observing

Only referees and streamers may observe games.

Game Mode

All games must be played in -xl mode. Before the game starts, the team leaders choose which heroes will be removed from the draft using 1-1-1-1-1-1 way. You are not forced to ban. Then heroes are picked the standard 1-2-2-2-2-1 way.

There are three things to decide before the game: side, first ban, first pick. Home team picks the first thing, away team picks the second, home is left with the third.

Home team is the upper team in the brackets in rounds 1, 3, 5 etc, and the lower team in the brackets in rounds 2, 4, 6, etc. This rule applies to both loser and winner brackets.

The used Dota-Allstars map is version 6.48b.

Saves and Disconnects

Save every ten minutes, after first blood, after every major battle and after a rax getting destroyed and on a teams demand if it is rational (demanding a save after every kill is NOT rational).

If a player disconnects within the first ten (10) minutes of the game it must be replayed, unless first blood has been drawn.
If one player on a team disconnects after the first ten (10) minutes, then the game will be replayed from the last save, if that save was made less than ten minutes ago. However, if the team has gained an advantage since the last save (a rax getting downed or having 3 more kills than the other team during the time since the last save), the game may be decided by a referee to be played on. In case of a dispute, pause the game and try to get a referee. If you save the game save it with another name, otherwise it will be impossible to restore the game from the point when the player dropped.
If the save was more than ten minutes ago the remaining players may choose to play on alone, unless both teams agree to replay from the save. If the game is played on you can sell the disconnected players items or share them between you and use him after that. If an item is given to a player in game, he can't sell it immediately afterwards.
If both players or both teams disconnect at the same time (defined as within one (1) second of each other), then the game will be replayed. If the game is judged to be clearly won by one team at the time of disconnect then it will count as a win for that team.

Replays

YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO SAVE THE REPLAY, regardless of your team winning or losing.

Boosting/Pooling

Any pooling is forbidden. Sharing minor health/mana regeneration items between heroes in the same lane for a short period of time does not count.

Sharing

The sharing of basic regeneration items, wards, consumables, and gems is allowed. Shared items have to be given back in a reasonable amount of time if they are not used. Please remember that whenever you purchase an item you are the sole owner of the item -- you can share it for a couple minutes if it is on the list below, but it must be returned or used shortly. The following items are the only allowable items:
• Sentry wards
• Observer wards
• Clarity Potion
• Flasks of Sapphire Water
• Chickens (for usage)
• Ring of Regeneration
• Ring of Health
• Sobi Mask
• Void Stone
• Perserverance
• TP Scroll is allowed to be given to another player permanently
• Ancient Tango of Essifation is allowed to be given to another player
• Cheese
• Aegis
• Gem of Truesight is allowed to be given to another player
• Bottle only if it is not empty

Item limitations

Maximum of:
2 Necronomicons per team
2 Euls/Guinsoos in total per team(i.e. a team can have either 1 eul's and 1 guinsoo's, or 2 of one type)

Enemy Items

When an item is dropped by a player or chicken and recovered by an opposing player, this item is considered an Enemy Item.
A team may freely use or trade an enemy item to allied players at any time.
If the item is dropped again and recovered by the original team, the item is still considered an Enemy item for the original owners.
Divine Rapier in any situation is never considered as an Enemy item.
For example, a Sent chicken dies and drops a Staff of Wizardry. The staff is then recovered by a Scourge player. The staff is now considered an enemy item and can be freely shared between the members.
Later on, the staff is dropped again and recovered by a Sentinel player. The item is now considered an enemy item for the Sentinel team. These strings of events are all considered legal.

Divine Rapier

Suiciding to give out an Rapier is not allowed. For example, if a Sent player makes a rapier, he is not allowed to suicide on purpose (Roshan, creeps, etc.) to give out the item to another Sent player. In enemy item case, a Sent player drops a Rapier and is picked up by a Scourge player. It’s not allowed to give away the Rapier by suiciding on purpose (Roshan, creeps, etc.).

Backdooring

- You are not allowed to attack any tower on the map without creep support. Creep support is defined as any of allied creeps being in range of the said tower.
- You have to enter the base with creeps but they don't have to be in the same line as you. As soon as creeps enter the base, the complete base is allowed to be destroyed.
- As long as there were creeps in base when you entered, you are allowed to keep attacking even if they die. If you leave the base at this moment you need to have new creeps in the next attack.
- If a tower is denyable (below 10% HP) and is not a base tower, backdooring rules do not apply.

Hero Bans/Minor Bans

Storm Spirit, Templar Assassin, Sacred Warrior, Faerie Dragon, Dark Seer, Pit Lord, Undying

Third Party Programs

AutohpBars, AutoHotkey, Ventrilo or any other programs filling the same purpose are allowed. Using any other program might result in a ban.

If you are uncertain whether a program is allowed or not, ask a referee.
