CIS mix Natus Vincere managed to outplay the Brazilian Luminosity Gaming in the Grand Final of the DreamHack ZOWIE Open: Leipzig today. The best-of-three series saw only two maps. However, both maps went to overtime, signifying just how close the teams are in terms of their ability.
Map #1 de_train
Luminosity Gaming displayed a wonderful initial CT half, securing nine out of fifteen against Na'Vi. Despite the fact that that their opponents won the first pistol round and subsequently bought rifles, the Brazilians were capable of fending off numerous aggresions from the T's allowing for a biased end of the first half 9:6 in their favour. In the second half, the CIS mix were sure to secure the second pistol round of the series, allowing them to buy economy-generating devices. This no doubt played heavily in favour of Na'Vi, however this did not stop Luminosity from showing their true colors. Both teams were at breaking point and it showed, as mistakes were made from both teams. 15:15 was on the board and the match transitioned into overtime. Despite a beautiful 1v3 AWP clutch from Gabriel ''FalleN'' Toledo, the CIS mix were able to overcome the Brazilians winning the map 19:16.
Map #2Â de_cobblestone
With the first map under Na'Vi's belt it was time for Luminosity to mount a comeback. They secured the first pistol round on the T-side along with a bomb plant. Following the pistol round, Luminosity showed an outstanding performance on the T-side of de_cobblestone, a map known to be slightly CT biased. Their efforts amounted to a 10:5 lead upon the conclusion of the first half. Na'Vi were not about to accept defeat, however, and started off the second half of the map with their third pistol round win of the series. This was instrumental in helping them develop their economy against the Brazilian roster. After trading multiple rounds, the teams were tied 15:15, again pushing the map into overtime. During the overtime, Na'Vi managed to grind out the Brazilians 19:16, securing the champion's title and $50,000.
