Steel removed from casting position due to community pressure

Former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Joshua "Steel" Nissan has revealed that he has been removed from his casting position in the King of Majors tournament due to community backlash.

Earlier last month, Valve banned seven key community figures in the CS:GO scene from all majors due to a North American match fixing scandal. Amongst those banned included Joshua "Steel" Nissan, a former professional player for iBUYPOWER and later for Torqued. In addition to the bans, Valve also asked tournament organizers to not associate themselves with any of those banned.

The organizers of the King of Majors tournament clearly disregarded this request, so when Steel was seen on stream casting some of the matches in the tournament, the community was outraged. According to aftonbladet, Steel was removed from his casting position because of this, and replaced with Team Dignitas player Jacob "Pimp" Winneche.

King of Majors tournament host and co-caster Mohamed "Availer" Zardab was the one that removed Steel from the casting team. However, he feels that Steel should be given a second chance. You can also read an Ask Me Anything (AMA) by Availer on Reddit that also addresses some of the issues here.
