Jangbi announces retirement

Jangbi after winning the last BroodWar OSL in 2012

The legendary BroodWar player and member of Samsung KHAN Heo "JangBi" Yeong Moo will retire from competitive StarCraft 2, write Daily eSports.

Known as one of the Six Dragons in StarCraft 1, Jangbi first appeared on the scene in 2007 as a member of Samsung KHAN, the team that would remain his home till his retirement. After a strong showing at the Soul International e-Sports festival where he placed second, Jangbi continued to show strong form the next years and won three more second places in ClubDay MSL (2008), Gom Classic Season 2 (2008) and the Lost Saga MSL (2009). Following a year with no strong individual results, Jangbi returned in 2011 to win the Jin Air OSL and repeat the feat a year later at Tving OSL 2012, the last ever OSL tournament in BroodWar.

Having now retired from StarCraft due to losing interest in the new game, Jangbi will spend a year in his home town of Busan before enrolling in the army. His highest achievement in StarCraft 2 was a Ro16 finish in 2012 OSL Season 1.
