How did your gameplan change once your proxy barracks was discovered in game one?
- Having his proxy barracks found by his opponents have happend before in practice, but it is a no turning back, you have to attack anyways so he did that.
Now that you're in the round of 16, who do you fear the most? Who can stop TSL_Rain?
- NesTea, the former champion.
Great position by Rain, too many units in there. Good game, BlizzCon champion Genius is out of the tournament. 2-0 to Rain!
13:16 - Double gas for both players. Rain at the right position, Genius in the top. Probably Banshee play for Rain. First stalker on the way out for Genius now. Robotics Facility being built by Genius, plus a second gateway.
Rain going for banshees. Genius sees it with his observer, deciding to take his natural expansion now that he knows what Terran is doing.
***
Rain laying down two more barracks, starting to mass marines. A raven on the way out, and some tanks. To counter this, Genius has an immortal out already, plus getting a Colossus.
13:07 - Game has started. Tasteless compares Genius with Stork, always wanting to be ahead in the game. Hmm, okay.
Double gas for Protoss, but at the same time Rain putting down a barracks in the pocket expansion of Genius. Genius spots it, and moves a Stalker there to kill off the marines moving in.
At the same time, Rain going all-in with his SCVs and three more marines into the main.
Bunker being laid down, wow, what a move.
***
Genius wants Dark Templars up, but doesn't have enough economy. Bunkered marines taking down more and more buildings. GG from Genius. 1-0 to Rain!
What do you think Golden was actually doing on that Steppes of War game?
- He was worried the whole time that he was gonan lose. he didn't know what was coming. he build an extractor, then evolution chamber, destroying it, then once again, then late spawning pool. He expected it to be proxy hatchery, but was still worried he was gonna lose, but when the units arrived he actually became calmed, he could use the force field and lay down the pylon at the exact time.
You just beat GoldenfOu, a lot of people are calling him one of the best fOu players. How confident does this make you feel? How far do you think you will go in the GSL?
- His goal is to be in the semi finals, but as you know in Round of 16 and Round of 8 there are some formidable players like NesTea and Genius. But he hopes to defeat them and reach the semi finals.
***
Protoss moving in now, great amount of Stalkers attacking Zerg's expansion. Golden was unable to get up enough hydralisks in time, and is heavily pressured now.
***
Hatchery gets taken down. BooGie will be taking this. Moving in to the main, Golden defending with his drones. This is over.
***
2-0 to BooGie!
12:45 - Golden at the right side position, BooGie in the top. I wonder if we'll see some more cheese.
***
Golden getting zergling speed, as well as stealing the gas in Protoss's base. BooGie really wanted the second gas, taking four probes off to destroy the extractor. Stalkers being built for BooGie.
12:39 - Game has begun.
GoldenfOu laying down an evolution chamber in his base, and a proxy hatchery. Cancels the evo, and adds a spawning pool instead. Very strange play.
BooGie warping in Cybernetics Core and a Zealot from the gateway.
***
Eight zerglings out, going for the ramp. Golden hoping to break it, but Boogie's zealot holding the defense.
Queen coming in as well, very interesting game! The cheese fails though, and BooGie takes the game.
It could have worked if he didn't have misclicked making an evolution chamber instead of the spawning pool.
Map list: Steppes of War, Scrap Station, Shakuras Plateau
In both games you were behind from the same Banshee rush. Are you afraid of better players exploiting it other than what LittleBoy did?
- It's bad idea to use mules after 5 minutes the game has started, but he did it in both games which cost him a lot of SCVs.
You've awlays been one of the top Terran players since the beta. Do you feel the recent cooperation with the WE team will benefit you? And if so, in what ways?
- He says he doesn't know. He's one of the players that doesn't think about things outside the game, he does nothing but play the game, so he says we'd better ask his coach.
12:26 - LittleBoy moves in with his bio troop into Maka's base, but Maka holds it off. GG from LittleBoy. 2-0 to Maka.
Maka having many vikings, and a turret, clearly doesn't want any more banshee harass. Maka moving out with his tank, marine and viking troop. Goes for the attack!
Players more or less taking out eachother's armies. Maka doing quite well though.
12:17 - Second game has begun. LittleBoy (red) in the bottom, Maka (blue) in the top.
Double gas for both players, Factory completes for both players. Maka with some more caution, building a bunker at the ramp.
***
LittleBoy with a follow-up Starport and a Hellion being built. Maka getting a tank, and starport as well.
Looking to be just the same build orders as last game.
***
LittleBoy GGs, 1-0 for Maka!
***
Players now buffing up. LittleBoy stops an expansion attempt of Maka with four Marauaders.
***
LittleBoy has taken the gold expansion in the mid left expansion.
***
Maka drops a couple of marines on the gold expansion, taking out a set of SCVs before fended off. HUGE drop on the way from LittleBoy.
LittleBoy at the same time dropping some marines on Maka's expansion, but gets driven away.
***
LlittleBoy with 2-Factory Siege tank with stimmed Marine/Marauder. Maka with a more mechy build, vikings and tanks.
***
LittleBoy going in for the kill, moving in to Maka's base, but is in way over his head. Manages to kill off a big chunk of SCVs, but Maka reinforces with five Mules.
LittleBoy with another attack, more marauders, marines and siege tanks. Maka can clean up with a cloaked banshee though.
***
Second banshee in there, having ataken out 11 SCVs. Maka gets a turret up, forcing LittleBoy's banshee to go away.
Game 1 - LittleBoy vs. Maka @ Delta Quadrant
11:42 - Getting the second series started soon, and we have TheLittleBoy against Maka!
***
LittleBoy at bottom left as red, Maka at bottom right as blue.
Both players opting for tech. Starport for both players. LittleBoy planting a Factory at the pocket expansion of Maka. A Hellion out, but does little damage.
What was going through your head in the games as they were so close against SEn?
- He didn't expend SEn to be so aggressive. He planned to attack first, but SEn was quicker.
SEn has been practicing in the Miracle house. How did that affect your practice routine?
- He got his own practice partner, he does not practice with his Zerg players in his team. He thinks SEn probably did the same.
Meanwhile, NesTea starts pounding the destructible rocks, hoping to counter-attack. But SEn has 17 Roaches to defend. Zerglings to accompany NesTea though, will be tough for him to defend this.
***
Tough blow for SEn, who decides to counter-attack. Has +1 on range, which might do some difference. Taking out some drones before NesTea comes back with his units!
SEn rallying in more zerglings. Such an intense game, back and forth action!
***
Game ends, SEn loses after not having any Queens and behind too far behind. NesTea takes the series, 2-0.
11:26 - Game two has begun. SEn in the right, NesTea at the top.
Players with the exact timing of the hatchery laydown.
***
Scrap Station allows Zerg players to tech a litlte more. Both players opting for Roaches.
NesTea is now gaining ground, the banelings dealt some heavy damage on SEn. Speedlings can now run by inside the main, and force SEn to GG.
***
It almost looked like SEn had the game in the start, but NesTea's great decision to go banelings as well. Unfortunately he had nothing to stop a counter-attack.
11:14 - And the first game is off. We have SEn in the top, NesTea at the right in a nice ZvZ on Lost Temple.
Both players starting with a fast expansion. While SEn is going for a quick baneling rush, NesTea goes for speedlings in the start.
A few banelings on the way for SEn now, going in for NesTea's expansion.
***
SEn putting a lot of pressure, going mass zerglings. NesTea goes for a counter-attack, but SEn is able to kill off the zerglings with his drones.
NesTea has speed on his zerglings, but SEn has many more, and the backup of a baneling. Looks like SEn has this.
Some great matches today.
NesTea against SEn, LittleBoy versus Maka, Golden against GgoBooGie and Rain versus Genius! While the Korean pop stars gets us pumped, I'll find some more coffee.
