Group A has some of the best StarCraft BroodWar players from Europe in it. Both Mondragon and ret are top Zergs in the Broodwar scene and are probably more succesful than most. Mondragon has won many tournaments and for a long time was considered the best player in Europe. Ret drew lots of attention when he attempted to break into the Korean progaming scene.
Group B however is probably the group of the most succesful StarCraft 2 gamers thus far, the players in this group have the largest total sum in tournament wins so far in the beta. The players have won Zotac, Go4SC2, and CraftCup tournaments.
Group C is a Swede party with White-Ra, the lone non-swede, who helped make Voidray rushes against Zerg famous. With two Zerg in his group he might have a chance to make it even more famous. When asked by GosuGamers about his thoughts on his group HayprO replied, "I think it's sad that three of the four Swedes are in the same group and added to that we get a Protoss that is really good, so it's not the optimal group to be in."
Lastly Group D has quite a few notable names. TheLittleOne made his name early in the SC2 beta scene when he showed off a few unorthodox strategies in the TeamLiquid intiviational. Kolll is the youngest player in the tournament and showed up in the BroodWar scene recently before the launch of the beta. Brat_OK is the only Russian player in the tournament and has been one of the best BroodWar players in the Russian scene. Lastly, the Spaniard Lucifron is one of the best WarCraft 3 players to transition into StarCraft 2.
A casting for the matches will also be streamed, but as of now there is no schedule announced. However, there are links to GameSports.TV and Day[9].tv posted in the Live Broadcasting Overview section of the website. It can be safely assumed that Sean "Day[9]" Plott will be casting for the event.
