PUBG Mobile has confirmed the three locations for their major tournament in the 2024 competitive season, reiterating the word Global from PMGC.
PUBG Mobile spills the three locations of their major tournaments for the 2024 competitive season. The three events that have been confirmed are Mid Season 2024, located in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2024 in Brazil; and PMGC 2024, which will take place in The United Kingdom.
The three tournaments will headline the 2024 roadmap for PUBG Mobile, starting with PMGO 2024, which will take place in Brazil, and PMGC 2024 to close the season up.
Besides the three tournaments, There will be four leagues, one for every region, accompanying the three international tournaments. The leagues will be called PMSL or PUBG Mobile Super League and will take place in SEA (South East Asia), EMEA (Europe, The Middle East, and Africa), Americas, and CSA (Central and South Asia).
PMGC 2024 Is UK Bound!
For the first time ever, PMGC will take place in the United Kingdom, making it the second event to take place on the European continent and the third in the EMEA region. The announcement was made during the Grand Final phase of PMGC 2023, which IHC Esports from Mongolia won.
The announcement also revealed a roadmap for the PUBG Mobile esports. James Yang, senior director for PUBG Mobile Global Esports, said that the tournament itself will have a 3 million USD prize pool. However, no announcement was made regarding the event's venue.
New System for PUBG Mobile Esports
With a new season dawning for PUBG Mobile esports, a new system has also been announced for the upcoming year. The biggest one was a confirmation of no PMPL. Instead, a region-based league called PMSL is going to be implemented. PMSL will be one gateway for teams to international tournaments, one of them being PMGO.
PMGO is one of the premier Global events for PUBG Mobile, which will take place from March to April 2024 in Brazil. This is the first time an international tournament will held in South America. The tournament will have a Global Open concept, in which there are three types of qualification methods.
The first one is Invited teams judged by their past tournament performance. The second way is going through a PMSL partnership, given to teams inside the franchise league. The last one is through open region qualifications, which are open to all players.
The second international tournament is a mid-season event that will take place in July 2024 and will be held again in Saudi Arabia. There is still no confirmation from PUBG Mobile what the tournament will be called. If no change is made, it will, supposedly, continue to be called PMWI or PUBG Mobile World Invitational.
