Overwatch teases Chinese New Year Event: "Year of the Rooster"

Blizzard's official Twitter teases new holiday event "Year of the Rooster"!

Fresh off the recent holiday season this past month, Blizzard is gearing up to begin a new event celebrating the Chinese New Year.

The short teaser trailer posted on the official Overwatch Twitter account shows off Mei in a traditional Chinese garb that is more than likely to be a legendary skin for her in the game itself. This could be the response that Blizzard is providing due to the criticism on her holiday skin in the previous event.

Along with Mei, another trailer was posted in Korean that teased the same event, but the trailer shows off D.VA in a Korean robe and a Meka decorated with heavy Korean symbolism.

Even though most fans did see this event coming after Blizzard announced that there will be no Valentine event. "The Year of the Rooster" will be nothing short of exciting. One of the rumors circling around the community is that Mei will have a flamethrower instead of a Freeze spray turning enemies into pillars of ash instead of ice blocks. Even though these rumors are not official, this event will definitely be an event that all fans will enjoy. The official start date of the event will be January 24th.
