Following his team's trip to Korea, CLG.eu's support Krepo gives a lengthy interview to Reignofgaming covering the lessons learned, the supports in the current meta, the disbalance in LoL and more.

Earlier this year, CLG.eu accepted an invitation to OGN Summer and came within hand's reach of the gold before losing to AZUBU Frost. A good tournament performance for sure, but what were the lessons learned by Kreapo and his team during their stay abroad? Improved bot and bot-to-mid synergy, new jungle styles and new combos: this is what the trip to Korea gave CLG.eu, an experience labeled as "Worth it" by Krepo.

Krepo then quickly goes over some more topics such as his teammates and the level of recognition they get, how does he fair their CLG.eu's chances at the World Championship and his picking thought process before diving into some heavier theorycrafting. It starts with scolding Riot for pre-nerf Diana and discussion about the flaws in the pick/ban system before entering the topic of why blue side is stronger than purple.

  • - "Bot lane has double golems and can help jungle start red buff with 2 people allowing him to transition him well into a quick jungle with early red (minimal difference with blue, insignificant ) but the EXP on lane decides everything. If purple has to help jungle on blue they will lose exp and be forced to either shove lane to equal it or be forced to level slower and be poked off or suffer hard from exp imbalance. In some bot lane combo's, falling behind in exp by being not early on lane/not pushing can lose you the lane entirely. If purple freezes you can always go to your golems to "fake base" and force them to push. In essence: blue bot lane has way more control.

If purple pushes they're WAY easier river ganked than blue. If blue pushes then purple jungle has to commit to entering "enemy jungle" which holds a severely higher risk.

Mid-late baron is easier accessible but that's open for interpretation. Map imbalance resides mostly in bot lane laning phase and exp imbalance. It's also slightly easier to steal wraiths over wall if you're blue side AP MID."

To close it all up, Krepo takes some time to talk about the 0cs support meta and address the issue about smaller variety in support champions compared to the other roles.

  • - "A lot of persons don't understand why only 1-2 supports get released.
    1) If Riot releases a champion that works well in the 0cs support meta they are basically condoning the meta and agreeing to it, and that would mean Riot would no longer be unbiased and following the meta rather than balancing the game and leaving room for personal interpretation. It's a thin grey line they have to walk.

    2) Good support champions often become broken AP carries. A lot of the conventional supports were exquisite AP's in the past (Alistar, Lulu, even Janna) so it's very hard to release a balanced support that isn't OP as AP whilst not "condoning" the meta.

However I'm happy with the way it's going, I don't feel too limited in my options since for every support you can match another AD for a different synergy. That's the beauty of bot lane."
