Moraxus, literally referring to "more axes" is a centaur like demon with axes that double as armor plating. The axe armor is more or less a metaphor to the role he plays.
Collectively his skills and ultimate synergize to create a "win-win" situation for Moraxus. As a tank, your role is to become beefy, and soak up all the damage from the other team. The problem is, if they are smart they will avoid you. Moraxus is just as much a threat if ignored, as he is faced head on. This is the strength of this hero.
SKILL 1: Quake
Moraxus stomps the grounds, doing damage and stunning in an AoE.
This helps disable multiple targets, and is a great initiation tool.
SKILL 2: Arcane Shield
Moraxus carries a hefty axe in one hand, but an even larger shield in the other. This skill passively grants armor, but can also be activated to block an incoming spell, nullifying it completely.
This is Moraxus' skill shot. This makes him an even greater tank, being able to soak up powerful skills if the opposing team chooses to attack him.
SKILL 3: More Axes
Continuing with the axe theme, Moraxus can throw pieces of his armor at enemies. Each axe does damage, and will stack a movement slow for each successful hit.
This is a great chasing and clean up tool. This ranged slow gives a melee tank the capability to contribute more to a team, in every phase of the game. Coupled with the Quake ability, Moraxus has great ganking ability.
ULTIMATE: Matraxe
Moraxus is shielded by a matrix of axes, which absorbs incoming damage, and can be detonated to do damage to surrounding enemies.
This is what makes Moraxus such an interesting tank. This ability will force the opposing team to either attack you, and destroy your shield (thereby fulfilling your role as a tank), or ignore you and take a large chunk of damage.
