ONIC Phillippines is parting ways with four players, leaving two roles without a player.
ONIC Phillippines announces four players will leave the team before the new MPL Phillippines season starts. Only four players remain on the team, leaving two roles without a player in ONIC Phillippines. The four players who left the team are:
Of the four members remaining in the team, only two players are from the main roster: Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez and Jomearie “Escalera” Santos.
Super Frince was the only player remaining from ONIC after their radical change post-M3 World Championship loss to Blacklist International.
Previously, two main roster players had already left the team. Homebois acquired Nets to bolster their rank, while Rapidoot decided to part ways with ONIC Phillippines after one and a half years with them.
ONIC Phillippines is in a difficult situation; they are in the stage of rebuilding their roster. Being a mainstay in the grand final of MPL Phillippines, they always failed to get the win when it mattered the most.
This not-so-good trend even manifested in the biggest stage in Mobile Legends. They failed to capture the M3 World Championship after losing decisively to Blacklist International in the Grand Finals.
These results nudge them to change radically, dropping some players to the developmental league and bringing an entirely new roster. However, the result isn't as immediate as the change of personnel. In Seasons 10 to 12, the PH branch of ONIC Esports was able to advance to the playoffs, reaching 5th-6th finish in all of it.
As a result of their performance in the league, ONIC Phillippines didn't qualify for the last two M World Championships series. With almost the entire main roster player released, change will certainly come to ONIC Phillippines. It will be interesting to see who they will bring to their roster for the upcoming MPL Phillippines Season 13.
