On Day 2 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 12’s playoffs, Rex Regum Qeon took to the Land of Dawn for their first series, which was against
Geek Fam ID. Having gone two games up in the best-of-five, RRQ was swiftly dispatched over the next three games, with the reverse sweep complete. On Day 3, today, they went up against
Bigetron Alpha, hoping to not suffer the same fate as Season 11 – a fourth-place exit.
The Robots are alive
For BTR, Day 2 was a tough one, where they faced off against ONIC Esports, reigning champions and one of the strongest teams in the current MLBB climate. The team managed to hold their own, taking things to a game five – which is where ONIC found their victory. But today, The Robots were not a team that looked as though they took a hard loss, but the opposite, in fact. BTR seemed to be on a whole different level to RRQ, playing some fantastic MLBB as they stomped over their opponents.
Even when RRQ seemed to have some semblance of control, BTR met them calmly, and took the fights, cutting Ferxiic down, and incapacitating their opponents where it hurt the most. When it came down to game three for RRQ to try to fight back, they were not on the same page, with players getting caught out at the worst possible times. With ease, BTR cruised past them with a clean 3-0 victory, making even more history for this MPL ID Season 12.
With that, this will now be the first time ever that RRQ will not feature at a M-Series event, as they are eliminated in fourth place from MPL ID for a second time this year. For BTR, the win sends them into the lower bracket final, where they will face either GFID or ONIC – a series that will be decided later today.
