EVOS SG and BTK take the playoff spots for Group C

Group C would be our third day of action at the M3 World Championships, as we prepared for more amazing MLBB action from four teams.

We have witnessed two of the four groups at the M3 World Championships reach completion, as teams battle for their spot in either the upper or lower bracket of the playoffs – and today, Group C contenders will find their path forward. With the likes of BloodThirstyKings, Natus Vincere, EVOS SG, and See You Soon all hopeful to stamp their mark on the MLBB world, Group C is sure to produce epic MLBB action.

The Tiger’s roar into action

EVOS SG were easily the most well-known of the teams in Group C, and they were first up on stage, taking on the Cambodians of See You Soon, one of the youngest rosters to ever feature at M3. Both teams seemed fairly evenly matched for a lot of the early parts of the game, as they did not find too many kills. However, once EVOS seemed to find their footing, it was all downhill for SYS, who were unable to really get much across the map. It was almost a turnaround from the Cambodians in the final moments, as they stole the Lord away, but EVOS responded with a Wipeout, getting an easy win in the process.

North America has come out to play

Next on the schedule for the day would be the North Americans versus the CIS, as BloodThirstyKings fought Natus Vincere. While there’s often been talk of BTK being the strongest team in their region, a name like NaVi would be a massive challenger. However, with that said, although the two teams fought back-and-forth for some time, it was BTK who set the tempo perfectly. With a composition that scaled perfectly, BTK took to the mid game without any contest, as MobaZane showed exactly why he is the most well-known player on the team.

Home ground heroes continue to shine

Having just won their first series, BTK would be up on stage again, this time with a much bigger challenge, as they faced the MPL Singapore champions who had just won their opening game, EVOS SG. With the home ground advantage, as well as their experience, it was clear that EVOS were far ahead of their opponents right from the start. In an almost perfect game, the Tigers kept the BTK squad trapped, never allowing them to take down a tier one turret, or even gain more than two kills. EVOS SG were relentless but meticulous as they took a solid second victory, proving that they are the team to beat in Group C.

The Na'Vi chants are coming

The fourth game of the day would be between the two teams which had lost their opening games, Natus Vincere and See You Soon – and what an epic matchup we saw. While many games had been fairly slow to start, with not many kills in the early game, this one saw two teams hungry for a win, with some bloodlust in their eyes. While SYS were seemed to be in control of the game, quelling the Na'Vi aggression, they seemed to over-estimate their own power, especially as we went into the late game. It took two fights for the CIS squad to turn things around completely, as Na'Vi managed to hold off the Cambodian threat and take their first win.

EVOS SG’s clean sweep

With the wind in their sails after a magnificent victory, Na'Vi would now have their biggest challenge, as they faced the mighty EVOS SG. With two wins under their belt already, the Singaporean representatives and champions would be looking to match Blacklist International’s Group A run, which went without a loss. Once again, much like in their previous game, Na'Vi seemed to scale really well into the late game, as they managed to hold off for a while against an EVOS SG looking to take a clean win. Unfortunately, the experience and skill of EVOS came out as they perfectly maneuvered around their opponents to close out a 3-0 in Group C.

MobaZane launches NA into the upper bracket

In what could possibly the final game of the day, SYS would be looking to finally get their first win, which would also take us to a three-way tie for Group C, while BTK were hoping to avoid this and push themselves into the upper bracket without issues. Once again, it was a game filled with kills, as both teams were mechanically brilliant as they found pickoffs across the map. However, thanks, once again, to some brilliance by MobaZane, BTK were able to get into a commanding lead and it was not long before SYS crumbled under the pressure.

With that, Group C’s action for Day 3 at the M3 World Championships comes to an end, after some absolutely breathtaking games. For EVOS SG and BloodThirstyKings, the upper bracket of the playoffs awaits, while See You Soon and Natus Vincere will have to battle through the lower bracket. Tomorrow will see the final day of the group stages, as Group D takes to the stage for more amazing MLBB action from M3.
