As MPL ID Season 12 continues, RRQ is a team which deserves some attention, as they hope to keep a win streak going.
After the first week of the Mobile Legends Professional League’s twelfth season in Indonesia, Rex Regum Qeon managed to show some brilliance as they breezed through with three victories. While this was previously something that the team would do, they have seemed rather shaky since Season 11 and throughout the off-season too. However, now it would seem as though the Kings of Kings are back, looking to reclaim the ID title and their throne.
RRQ’s Season 11 is not one that the team want to remember, nor is their off-season, as the team struggled to get going in two separate events. While during the H3RO Esports 4.0, RRQ made it through to the playoffs and even into the upper bracket semi-finals, they were eventually beaten by both AURA Fire and Alter Ego – two teams which really have not made an impact in some time. Inversely, the Snapdragon Pro Series did not even see RRQ make it out of the Challenge Season, as their slump continued, which lead most of us to expect the worst going into Season 12.
However, something has changed now that MPL ID Season 12 has begun, and even though we have only seen them playing together for three series, RRQ has come out swinging. In Week 1 they managed victories over AURA and Rebellion Zion – but most importantly took down the M4, MSC 2023, and Snapdragon champions, ONIC Esports.
First and foremost, Clay has been on point with his Middle Lane mage plays, basking in the dominance of Pharsa and Kadita. However, the inclusion of Ferxiic in the roster as the new Jungler has really opened up the game for RRQ, with Baxia picks making it difficult for the enemy teams. All-in-all, the entire team just seems to be far stronger right now and the ID region could be completely conquered by RRQ once more.
With three wins under their belt, RRQ go into Week 2 of MPL ID to face off against EVOS Legends as well as a strong Bigetron Alpha. These two series could prove quite telling in the long run, as they will be the team’s main challenge after already taking down ONIC. It is hard to remember the team’s poor off-season when they have brought in the likes of Naomi too and seem comfortable in their drafting. RRQ can easily extend their current streak across the entirety of the Regular Season if they keep up their current form – and if there is a meta-swing, they will likely be the ones to cause it.
