G2 Esports LEC Winter Split champions

G2 Esports is the back-to-back LEC Winter Split champions

G2 Esports make it 12 LEC titles after it claimed back-to-back Winter Split victories.

After a slow start during the group stage, G2 Esports came alive during the playoffs of the LEC Winter Split and dropped only two maps in its entire run to being back-to-back champions. G2 now make it 12 LEC regional titles, the most of any organisation in League of Legends history and it also became the first team to confirm its spot at the Mid-Season Invitational later this year.

G2 took down MAD Lions KOI in a rematch of last year's Winter Split grand finals as MDK managed to take the first map of the best-of-five against G2. However, it wasn't enough as G2 was able to win the next three games on the trot to lift the trophy once again. In the build-up to its grand final rematch against MDK, G2 also had to take down the likes of GIANTX, Fnatic, and Team BDS in the process.

The 120 Championship points gifted to G2 after winning will also go a long way in ensuring its spot to the LEC Finals 2024 and Worlds. Even the likes of GIANTX and Team Heretics walked away with 30 points while SK Gaming and Team Vitality had 45 points. Fnatic, BDS, and MDK would still have the best chance of making it as they received 60, 80, and 100 points respectively.

Given G2's dominance over the Winter Split once again, it was MDK who took the first map of the grand finals as they managed to get the better of G2. But in games two and three, it was Steven “hans sama” Liv who turned up for the team with back-to-back performances on Varus that saw him get 21 kills and three deaths in both matches. In the fourth and final match, it was Martin “Yike” Sundelin who clutched up with Lillia as he got 10 kills and 10 assists alongside only two deaths.

G2 were by far the more superior team and it showed throughout all four games as they were able to claw themselves back after a slow start to the series. And it was Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik who took home the grand finals MVP award after a standout performance during the best-of-five. His K'Sante, Kennen, and Gragas were instrumental in G2 being able to gain control and eventually dominate the game and take its second LEC Winter title in a row.
