In the last few weeks, we have seen many stories surrounding Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee and his place on the T1 roster for the ongoing LCK Summer 2023 tournament. The long-standing T1 player has recently brought some symptoms of pain in his right arm and hand to the attention of his team, and after he underwent checkups, a decision was made by the team earlier today.
In a post made via the T1 social media platforms, the team confirmed that Faker would be taking a short break from competing. Although nothing severe was found through the examinations, the player and coach, alongside the full team, came to the decision to allow the player a chance to rest his arm and hand. While we do not know how long he will be away from competing, a replacement has already been brought in to fill in for Faker.
In the same announcement, T1 confirmed that Yoon “Poby” Seong-won would make his LCK debut today as the team take on DRX in an ongoing series at the time of writing. T1 will also be facing off against Gen.G Esports later this week, on July 8th, which will probably still include Poby in the squad. With an important week for T1 in the LCK, this could be a very rough introduction for the replacement into the deep end of the event, but he could prove to be a shining replacement when called upon.
