G2 Esports has ensured that the LEC will also have two teams in the bracket stage after their 2-0 win over PSG Talon. This now puts PSG into the lower bracket, where they will face the winners between LOUD and DetonatioN FocusMe. And if they make it through, they will then play an additional best-of-five for a final spot in the bracket stage.

As for G2, they now have another shot at becoming just the third team to have won two MSI titles. While they did start in the play-in stage, G2 has cooked the competition thus far without losing a single game in the process. However, PSG did prove to be a real test, especially in game one.

They started the early game well, picking off PSG with ease on multiple occasions. While PSG did manage to land a few kills themselves, it was clear that G2's early game aggression played out perfectly. However, their over-aggression didn't always work out as PSG soon found their footing in the game, being able to fight back at times.

Both teams would duke it out even more as the game progressed, constantly at each other's throats the moment they lock eyes. With the game pretty much even by the late game, it was a battle for the cloud drake. Despite PSG managing to take the drake, it was G2 who came out on top in the fight by teamwiping PSG to eventually take game one.

In the second game, both teams opted for totally different comps but it was still G2 who started the game well, especially with Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik taking a casual one-versus-two and getting the first blood. The PCS champions were rattled from game one and didn't seem to have fully recovered. However, that didn't last long as PSG would soon get on the scoreboard with some key shutdowns in the early game.

But as the game progressed, G2 would slowly take control of the game with some great teamfights from all angles. Their ability to turn teamfights into objectives should not go unnoticed. Pound for pound, PSG could not stand up to G2's aggression once again, this time tenfold. BrokenBlade deserves a special mention for game two with his Olaf doing almost everything to bring G2 over the finish line.
