Team Solomid will begin splitting scrim time with Liquid substitute AD Carry Yuri “KEITHMCBRIEF” Jew, with Jason “WildTurtle” Tran on the chopping block.
In a video released earlier today, TSM manager and owner Andy “Reginald” Dinh stated that he sat down with both Tran and Marcus “Dyrus” Hill to discuss their gameplay at the Mid-Season Invitational. And while Hill has shown outstanding improvement since his subpar performance in Tallahassee, Tran has been the weakest link for TSM since the beginning of the Summer Split a month ago.
While Team Solomid have managed to stay at the top of the tables, their victories have been marred by a sloppy mid game and an inability to close out inferior opponents in a timely manner. Tran’s positioning and decision making in the mid to late game have put TSM in increasingly more awkward positions, and owner/manager Dinh has stated that it is becoming increasingly hard to justify Tran’s position on the squad. Jew will be splitting scrim time with Tran, but Coach Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-sub was adamant in affirming that everyone on TSM earns their position, and that taking criticism while having a willingness to improve was a required personality trait.
TSM face Team8 and CounterLogic Gaming this week, and without a swift victory against Team 8 and at least a competitive game against CLG, TSM could be looking at bringing on their new potential marksman before the end of the month.
