Jinx, the Loose Cannon and mafia skin released

After website graffiti promotion, an AMA, a music video, and a champion spotlight, Riot has finally released Jinx, the Loose Cannon for 975 RP or 7800 IP.

Riot really upped the ante when promoting the new champion, Jinx.  If you missed the music video, you should check it out.  Jinx's developers received largely positive feedback for her personality and concept as Vi's chaotic nemesis in their Reddit AMA, and her release has been wildly anticipated.  Though there has been no mention of whether she will be used in the competitive scene, expect your favorite streamers to be taking her to the rift as much as possible today.

Jinx will be available at 975 RP and 7800 IP for the rest of the week, until the IP cost is reduced to the standard 6300 IP.  You can also pick up her mafia skin for 1462 RP through the weekend, after which the price will be increased to 1950 RP.

The details of Jinx's abilities on release are as follows:

  • Passive: Get Excited! - Whenever a champion or tower that Jinx has dealt damage to within the last 3 seconds is killed or destroyed, she gains 175% movement speed that decays over 4 seconds.
  • Q: Switcheroo!
    • TOGGLE OFFPOW-POW, THE MINIGUN: Jinx's basic attacks grant 16.6/23.3/30/36.6/43.3% bonus attack speed for 2.5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.  The stacks decay one at a time when she stops attacking with her minigun.

      Switching to her Rocket Launcher will not clear any active stacks, but they will not grant attack speed after her first attack.
    • TOGGLE ONFISHBONES, THE ROCKET LAUNCHER: Jinx gains 75/100/125/150/175 bonus attack range and deals 10% AD bonus damage on her attacks, at the cost of mana per attack.

      Additionally, her attacks will splash, dealing full damage to all nearby enemies.  The bonus damage to her target and the splash damage both scale additively with critical strikes.
  • W: Zap! - After a short delay, Jinx fires a shock blast that deals 30/75/120/165/210 (+140% AD) physical damage to the first enemy hit, also granting true sight and slowing 30/40/50/60/70% it for 2 seconds.
  • E: Flame Chompers! - Jinx tosses out 3 chompers that, once armed, explode on contact with enemy champions dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+100% AP) magic damage over 1.5 seconds to nearby enemies. The champion that sets off the chomper is also rooted the same duration. Chompers explode automatically after 5 seconds. A single champion can only set off a single chomper, but can be damaged by any number if they remain in range.
  • R: Super Mega Death Rocket! - Jinx fires a rocket that travels in a line, exploding on the first enemy champion hit. Enemies caught in the explosion take physical damage equal to a base amount (this amount increasing from 125/175/225 (+50% bonus AD) over the first second the rocket travels for a maximum of 250/350/450 (+100% bonus AD)) plus 25/30/35% of their missing health. The primary target of the explosion takes full damage, while nearby enemies take 80% damage.
